A Battle of Attrition
The hardest part about this year’s presidential election is attempting to still give a crap after listening to debates and campaign ads for 2 straight years. A year ago, I was still excited about the election. Heck, we still could have potentially had Rudy at that point.
Now a year later, I’ve heard approximately 736 hours worth of Obama ads. McCain doesn’t run ads in Kansas, possibly because it’s already a red state, or more likely because he doesn’t have any money. And of course, that could be because he agreed to public financing and Obama lied about agreeing to it and then reneged.
But all of that is water under a washed out bridge. I honestly wish “None of the Above” was a choice on the ballot, because that would get my vote. I simply can’t stomach any more of this moronic BS. And I even like politics - I can’t imagine how annoying it must be for Joe Sixpack who doesn’t care in the first place.
Obama sucks. McCain sucks. Ron Paul is crazy as a bedbug. The only enjoyable political thing that’s happened in the last 6 months is the SNL Thursday Night Update.
I expect this will be one of the biggest voter turnouts in history. And it won’t be because Obama is going to fix the world, or make up for slavery, or give us all some chump change (that was ours in the first place until he took it). It will be because it marks the end of the longest, most relentless campaigns that ever happened. And boy, will America be happy that it’s finally over.
I disagree with 110% of Obama’s positions. He’s a HARD left ideologue with delusions of grandeur, he’s for 4th trimester abortions paid for by taxpayer dollars, he’s for increasing taxes on small businesses so we can all lose our jobs. But still, at this point, I’ll take an Obama administration over more of this campaigning.
Obama is trying to wear us down so we’ll be so apathetic by election day, the only people who show up will be the inner city black people that ACORN busses to the polls. But their votes will be purely on the issues, and will have nothing to do with Obama being black.
