Fair is for Sissies
The left is constantly talking about things being fair… as if anything in the real world or America has anything to do with fair. Fair is what you make of it. How many wildly successful people overcame tough circumstances? How many “overnight successes” worked quietly and steadily for 20 years before they finally got their big break?
Life isn’t fair, it’s not supposed to be fair, and frankly, it shouldn’t be fair. Those who work the hardest will ultimately be successful, even if a bunch of bad stuff happens to them along the way. The very mindset that says “that’s not fair” is the mindset that is doomed to failure. Successful people are successful because they don’t give up when unfair crap happens to them.
I had a photography professor - chair of the department at the college, making LOTS of money… He wanted to be a photographer - a successful one. He took a bus across country to Rochester, NY, which is where one of the best photography programs is (Rochester Tech). He didn’t have a penny to his name. He got a job for minimum wage, worked as an apprentice part time (for no pay), and used ALL of his income to pay tuition. He literally lived under a porch for four years.
You CANNOT keep someone like that down. They will be successful because they have the will to be. When opportunity knocks, that kind of person has already done all of the preparation they need. If you’re waiting for a break to be successful, you’re barking up the wrong tree. If you aren’t preparing yourself for the direction you want to go with your life, you will NEVER get to have that life. It has nothing to do with fairness. It’s about will, determination, and hard work.
I’ve never met a successful person who had it easy. I’m sure there are exceptions, but they aren’t the rule.
The Democrats love to harp on how it’s not fair that we have such disparity between our upper and lower class. Give me a break. The upper class didn’t get there by accident. The poor didn’t get there by accident, either. Poor is a mindset just as much as rich is a mindset. Poor people make poor people decisions… they don’t get education, they claim it’s because they can’t afford it or don’t have a car, or whitey’s keeping them down, or whatever. Whenever they get a little bit of money, they buy retarded crap like rims and Nike shoes and bling instead of using it for education or investing.
Only a bed-wetting sissy wussbag would ever complain about life not being fair, at least not in America. There are some countries where no amount of hard work will get you anywhere… THIS is not one of them.
There’s an example in my own home as I was growing up. My dad came from a big family in St. Louis… they had basically nothing… a family of 7 living on a postal worker’s income. My dad rode the bus two hours each way through the ghetto to go to a Catholic school. At 18, he moved out and worked unloading dog food from trucks to pay his way through engineering school. Now he’s a Ph.D. running his own business and having a great deal of success. Is it ‘FAIR’ for the government to take his hard earned money and give it to poor people who sit around drinking and watching talk shows all day or worse yet, pay for health care for illegal aliens who never paid taxes in America? Nope. But he won’t complain - he’s too busy figuring out what he can do to be even MORE successful (so that preferably someday he’ll be rich enough to put his money into tax sheltered offshore accounts like the Kennedys and Clintons).
If you’re able-bodied and/or able-minded and you’re still poor… you probably need to do a bit of self reflection to figure out why you keep making bad decisions.
