Dear Kansas,

Thank you so much for the letter informing us that we have to repay the unemployment that you already sent us. This makes complete sense, because we already went through a dispute and won, because the employer didn’t have any evidence. But since the employer was able to MANUFACTURE evidence after the fact, I can see how you would take his word for everything. That makes total sense.

Of course, employers never lie… only employees do that. Employers are truthful by their very nature. Just because the person who trained my wife in the job was the one who showed (by her example) her what was acceptable and what wasn’t. But that isn’t the employers problem, even if he IS sleeping with the person who trained my wife. I’m sure that had nothing to do with the double standard.

I’m sure your decision to only talk to the employer and not the employee was based on a completely fair set of criteria. Our legal system is based on an accuser being able to say whatever they want, and the accused not being allowed to be present. Right? Sure, you can lean on your thin argument of technical difficulties, but that hardly makes a one-sided legal decision fair, don’t you think?

Yes, Kansas, your decision to reverse the unemployment will definitely help the economy. The scumbag employer will save a few hundred bucks. Your unemployment fund will save a few thousand. And you don’t have to worry about what happens to the citizen you’re taking the money away from, because that’s not your problem.

I blame the employer for being a lying scumbag who has one set of standards for normal employees and another set for employees he sleeps with. But it’s you, Kansas, that I blame for having a ridiculous, arbitrary, and moronic system in place that allows decent people to be screwed by lying scumbags.

Keep up the good work!

Your loyal taxpaying citizen,

Today I received an email via my contact form. It was from someone calling themselves “J C” using a fake email address.

The message read “You are an idiot!”

This message was perspicacious while simultaneously useless, so I found myself compelled to post it. Incidentally, J C will probably have to look up the word “perspicacious” before he’ll realize it has nothing to do with sweating.

He did not refer to anything I’ve written. He did not use a real name or email, so my assumption would be it’s someone I know, but who knows. It’s these random notes that make me just scratch my head. Even if you’re too much of a sally to leave your real name and email address, you’d think if you were that upset by something you read, you’d at least state your objection. Not so in cyberspace. People are very brave when they’re protected by anonymity.

I’m to the point in my life where this type of message just makes me laugh. Someone took the time to stop at my site, get riled up enough to write a note, and mad enough they didn’t want me to know who they were. That is quite a lot of power I have.

Or rather, to J C I say “Dance Monkey, Dance!”

Citigroup announced today it would be repaying their 20 Billion dollar bailout. In a letter addressed to the Treasury, they said the following:

Dear Treasury,

Thank you so much for the use of 20 billion in taxpayer dollars. We used this money to hire lawyers to help us rewrite our cardholders’ agreements. Through the clever use of legaleze, we were able to hike the rates of credit card consumers from 12% to 27% on average. Of course, we partly did this to earn enough to repay our bailout, but we also felt our hand was forced by your recent consumer’s bill of rights. Naturally, we had to hike the rates before that legislation kicked in!

We have now bilked our customers out of massive amounts of interest and fees, and we’re happy to announce that this has earned enough to repay our loan. We know it may seem unethical to use taxpayer money to stay in business while at the same time hiking up those same taxpayers’ interest rates to repay the loan, but frankly, you left us no choice.

We are sure that the wonderful services we provide more than offset the pain our customers may have felt by having to give us a loan and then repay the loan with their money, too.

Best regards,

First off, I think it’s racist to call the most aggravating shopping day of the year “Black”.

Last year, countless herds of morons trampled and crushed other morons in a fight to get cheap electronics. Many of us felt this was simply nature culling the herd of its weaker members… killing off moron genes.

Many of the trampled morons had arrived at midnight and waited in line in the bitter cold for 6 or 8 hours till the stores opened. I’d be in a hurry to get inside, too.

What the stores failed to mention in their ads last year was that “limited quantities, no rain checks” mean “We have one of these things at the listed price.” So once inside the store, more fights broke out due to the fact that after waiting for 8 hours in the cold, the store didn’t actually have a sale going on… just good marketing.

This year, CNN polled America to find out how many people planned to shop on Black Friday. 13%. And stores changed their approach as well, in hopes of avoiding having crowds of morons trampling their employees to death.

This year might be a calmer Black Friday, but that still won’t lure me out. I’d gladly pay full price to avoid spending my day with the morons who still choose to brave the day.

Yesterday I put a joking remark about our dear sweet President Obama on a friend’s Facebook status. It was humorous, assuming you had the intelligence to sense my sarcasm.

Well, one of that friend’s OTHER friends took offense and decided that a good response would be to call me a chump (which is defined as a “stupid or gullible person”).

Even if you took my Obama comment seriously, what person is so lame that they take offense to a comment by a complete stranger on SOMEONE ELSE’S Facebook page?

I told him I’d rather be a chump than a jerk, then my friend made us stop the conversation.

I was extremely curious as to what made him think it was a good idea to attack me personally, considering he does not know me, does not know my politics, does not know my sense of humor. My friend DOES know those things, which is why it was more than likely humorous to her.

Mr. Jerk decided to put his two cents in like an idiot.

It’s no secret to you, my loyal readers, that I think Obama is at best highly overrated and at worst, sinister. But he would have no way of knowing that.

To put this all into perspective, the offending party’s profile picture on Facebook is an AVATAR. The kind where you try to design a digital character that resembles yourself…

Clearly he’s trying to hide acid burns or his hideous freak show of a face. Or maybe just the fact that he lives in his mommy’s basement and plays D&D all day.

Anyhow, since he’s not my Facebook friend, I doubt he’ll ever read this, but if he does, I challenge him to a battle of wits. To the death.

As I was driving to work today, I saw people back at work at the local school where they’ve had a labor strike. I thought – “gosh, I’m disgusted that the school district caved to those entitled SOBs.”

Then I saw that the unions were still standing there picketing, and they had signs that said “Shame on U.S.D. 123.” As it turns out, the school district basically said FU to the union and they hired “scabs” (which I define as ‘people who are happy to have work at a decent living wage and don’t whine about raises during a major recession’).

Normally, even after the district made a decision like that, they’d have a hard time finding people willing to cross the picket line. Not in this case. The building was swarming with workers. A lot of those guys probably haven’t had work in months, and they have families to feed.

The unions are livid, of course, because the school told them FU. They are used to getting whatever they want, and when they don’t, they just throw a tantrum until people give in to them. Apparently nobody cares about their tantrum this time. I wonder what’s different?

I’m pretty confident I know the answer to that question.

The average Joe takes a look at these self-important idiots who think they can be demanding during a near-depression, and they think “I can’t believe what ungrateful bozos those union guys are! What I wouldn’t give to have a job right now!”

Unions have outlived their usefulness, and now regular people are starting to get the hint. As I was sitting at the stoplight in front of the school, people were rolling down their windows to yell at the union picketers. “Get a life!” “It’s your own fault for walking off the job!” “@#$ you, maybe you should have considered all of the unemployed people!”

I have to admit, I had a tingle of patriotic pride when I realized that everyday Americans were finally realizing how UN-American unions are.

Pay should be based on merit and economic reality, not on blackmail.

Unions are going to fight for their “due” right down to the point where they fight their way out of existence. The U.A.W. is a great example. They had a jillion people 30 years ago, they fought and fought and fought… now they have highly paid workers, but they only have a few thousand left.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
