It's true - there's magic in the darkroom that's hard to find anywhere else. . . and, of course, the fumes and the chemical stains on you clothes.

...also now that we're fully into the digital age, kids today don't know the horrors (and pleasures) of spending hours in a dark room surrounded by thousands of gallons of water and hundreds of gallons of probably toxic fumes... ahhh the memories...

Did anybody ever make one of those pin hole cameras in elementary school? That was the best use of 110 film, it was the camera equivalent of making a telephone out of two tin cans and piece of string.

Kids today don't know what they're missing, I defy anyone to make a digital camera out of a shoebox, some string and a roll of duct tape.

I started my fascination with photography like you did, with a crappy 110. I've had three digitals in the past few years; a Kodak something or other (I hated it), a Kodak EasyShare (which I still have to film short vids) and my fave, a Nikon D70. Our local paper uses a Nikon D200 and they look SWEET! Too bad I didn't get one for my birthday...

My first digital SLR was (still is) a D40, and for now, it's good. But my uncle let me play with his D700, and I practically drooled all over that thing.
