One of the biggest arguments against drilling in ANWR or off-shore is the notion that it will take 5-10 years to get those pumps on-line. What people don't realize is that the effect to gas prices could be immediate. It's kind of like in the 80's when Reagan just mentioned SDI (Star Wars), we didn't have to actually build a missile killing device we just had to make our enemies believe that we would build it. The Russians folded like a cheap suit.

If Congress approves the bill to start drilling off-shore and in ANWR, what in the world do you think OPEC will do? Increase production thus dropping prices. If a farmer has a monopoly on providing corn the last thing he wants is for his customers to start growing their own corn, because if they do they'll buy less of his. So instead of continuing to raise prices he'll try to drop his so cheap that it's more economical to buy from him then to grow your own.

If Congress gets aggressive with allowing ANWR drilling AND off-shore drilling the anticipation of increased supply will be enough to cause a precipitous drop in world-wide oil prices which benefits EVERYbody.

I think even the polar bears agree...

I'm just hoping that Obama is a populist like Bill Clinton was - most of the time the good ole' bell curve works like a charm.

Of course Obama's voting is more to the left. It's because there's a conservative in Hilary waiting to come out. I think she'd sell out her party in a second if it gets her all the power. I don't trust her.

Obama makes Hillary look like a Rush Limbaugh pupil. His voting record is way farther left than Hillary.

However, since the country's going to go to hell in a handbasket under the Democrat congress no matter who the president is, it might as well be a Democrat president taking all of the blame.

Then the good Lord will raise up a Reagan to save us once again.
