It's tedious, dirty and he makes more money in commercial electrical work, anyway. The reason they schedule in 8 hour blocks is because an easy job may actually require several hours to complete once they get there and see what's what. Believe me, I'm sure most electricians would love to tell you "I'll be there at 3". If they knew how long each job would take they'd get home at the same time each day and make good money.
